Dubai’s Little Piece of Flower Heaven

Miracle Garden

Well, I finally made it to Miracle Garden last week and boy was I blown away! If there is a Garden of Eden on earth, I think this may be it. An absolute horticultural marvel!

Miracle Garden

With more than 70,000 sq. feet and 45 million blooming colorful flowers, I did not even know where to start. Dubai, which is known to have a Guinness record for the most world records, now has this addition of the “Largest Vertical Garden” in the World.

Why am I not surprised? Over-the-top and extravaganza is the name of the game here. But who’s complaining? Not me for sure – enjoying and taking in all of the man-made and natural beauty this city has to offer!

This one garden path I don’t mind being lead up to – deception or not. At least I’ll have the pleasure of feasting my eyes to over 45 different colors in flowers. Some of the ones I was able to identify from back home in the U.S. Virgin Islands were Calendulas, Petunias, Marigolds and happy Daisy’s peeping through — which I’ve never seen in such abundance here in the desert. All with the clever re-use of water via drip irrigation!
What I loved most was artsy flower-packed vintage cars, the arc-shaped pathways and all colorful pots and umbrella walkways. Oh, and of course, all the snack stands. I’m talking churros, gelato, fruit smoothieshello sunshine! A perfect accompaniment for a garden walk.

Best of all, there is more to come. Phase II will have a butterfly park and strawberry garden. Now what a thing that would be if you can pick strawberry’s from a strawberry patch in the desert!

So if you are here in Dubai and have not yet checked out this wonderland, get out there soon before the hellish summer heat sets in. Entrance is 30 dirhams and its located in Al Barsha. Oh, and parking is NOT free. We had to pay 30 AED for that as well.

    “Earth laughs in flowers”
Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.
Flowers… are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty out values all the utilities of the world.

Enjoy both the writing and the thoughts behind it. Immensely the pictures. My hope is someday to enjoy the whole Earth looking and smelling just as beautiful with all the goodness and beautiful people within their hearts to love it and take care of it
After all it is our home.

    2. Glad you enjoyed, Evelyn. Yes, we must cherish our planet Earth and plant, plant, plant wherever and whenever we can.

    3. Yes, indeed! I find so much serenity in these gifts from nature.
